Talent continues rising to the top at Shakespeare Martineau as firm announces further promotions
Shakespeare Martineau has promoted three people to senior positions within the firm.
James Fownes, Ian Evans and James Woolstenhulme have all been promoted to associate partner level, joining the firm’s 130-strong team of partners and associate partners.
James Fownes started at Shakespeare Martineau as a trainee solicitor in 2008 and now specialises in real estate disputes, and James Woolstenhulme qualified as a solicitor for the firm in 2011 and advises on commercial disputes. Ian Evans joined Shakespeare Martineau’s Corclaim team shortly after in 2012, supporting clients through credit hire and personal injury claims.
The associate partner role is unique to Shakespeare Martineau and acts as a stepping stone to support the progression of employees who are working towards the position of partner.
Also supporting the development of all members of the firm is the Shakespeare Martineau Academy which nurtures existing and up-and-coming talent by offering a breadth of professional and personal development courses. In the last year, over 650 individuals have trained at the academy which has helped a total of 30 people gain a promotion to associate, legal director, associate partner and partner level.
Victoria Tester, HR director at Shakespeare Martineau, said: “Our people are at the heart of what we do and allow us to provide our clients with the high level of service and expertise that Shakespeare Martineau prides itself on.
“We’ve always seen great potential in all three associate partners and they will make fantastic leaders for the firm. We’re committed to continually investing in our staff to ensure they’re equipped with all of the skills needed to take their careers to the next level. It’s fantastic to see so many people taking advantage of the extra support available and they should be very proud of their achievements as a result of the hard work they have put in.”
