Leasing Finance & Consumer Credit

The UK financial services industry has always been a world leader in terms of the sophisticated products and offerings available. As a result, our clients expect a real grasp of the marketplace and regulatory requirements to ensure that they have access to advice on all areas, no matter whether contractual, regulatory or of a disputed nature.

Recent years has seen a huge increase in leasing whereby many commercial and consumer users will access goods through leasing channels.

We help our clients to navigate difficult waters relating to finance leases, operating leases, contract hire, conditional sale agreements, sale and leaseback, personal contract hire, personal contract purchase and hire purchase. Our services range from security documentation through to debt collection and asset recovery.

We act for many UK financial lessors who can range from large scale captive funders through to small and medium-sized leasing companies and the broker sector.

This sector is heavily regulated with many agreements being subject to the Consumer Credit regime. Our clients are also subject to regulation of the Financial Conduct Authority; we help them with their policies including treating customers fairly, vulnerable customers and fraud. We also guide clients through distance selling, online selling and cancellation rights, fixed sum loans and restricted and unrestricted credit, secured and unsecured.
