Walk to the Gold Coast – our challenge

We passionately believe in the importance of the wellness of our people.

Combined with support from Olympic Gold medal winner, Alex Danson as firm ambassador and performance director for Team England at the 2014 Games, Greg Whyte as Programme director, we’ve developed a firm wide health and wellness programme to rival all others – Walk to the Gold Coast. The programme dovetails with our partnership with Team England in the lead up to the 2018 Commonweath Games.

Our people have been given Fitbit activity trackers with the aim of completing several challenges along the journey to the Gold Coast. The programme is designed to promote healthy activity and exercise but it also supports our firm values. It fosters incredible team spirit and helps our people identify with athletes, Team England and the goals and challenges athletes go through to achieve their incredible successes.

Progress so far

With over 80% of the firm engaged and averaging
a step count of over 10,000 steps a day, we’ve
made a great start. With success stories coming in
about people losing lost weight, changing how they live,
creation of walking groups across the firm, it has really captured our
people’s imagination, both professionally and in their home lives.

Our latest challenge sees our people follow in the footsteps of Santa and match his steps for 12 days of Christmas. The challenges will be announced via video each day with guest appearances from across the firm – read more about the challenge and how you can take part here!

There’s plenty more to come. We’re excited and hope you are too. It’s a long walk to the Gold Coast… we hope to see you there.

"We're excited about working with Shakespeare Martineau to show
how integral teamwork is in both sporting and business
environments. We also share similar beliefs when it comes to
fostering upcoming talent."
