SHMA Talks

Leading five generations in business

As the life expectancy and retirement age increases, so does the span of ages in the workplace.

With greater technology and fast-paced lives, it’s thought that priorities, mindset and cultural differences between generations are shifting quicker than ever. So, with workplaces likely to employ boomers through to Gen Z, how do you cater for the needs of different generations? Is it a reality that millennials need constant praise and feedback and that boomers will be resistant to change, or is this just a stereotype?

In this episode of SHMA Talks, our CEO Sarah Walker-Smith is in conversation with Henrietta Brealey – CEO of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Ninder Johal - CEO of Nachural Group, business leaders who manage, motivate and support teams of all ages, both older and younger than themselves. How do they do it and what is the best practice for managing a workforce of up to five generations?
